Yeah... Just what we need in the blogosphere: another hipster, too-trendy-for-their-own-good, twenty-something who thinks that the Internet cares about their opinion.
LUCKY FOR YOU, fearless readers, I am none of those things. I bathe in the mainstream, but I can't seem to catch on to trends. I like music and stuff, but I don't feel like I have any kind of exceptional taste or anything. Oh, and I'm not twenty yet. Still a young'un. And as for the Internet and them caring about my opinion? That would be a negatory. You don't care. Not really.
No one cares about anyone but themselves. THAT'S HOW THE HUMAN MIND WORKS. Don't try to deny it. I have worked tirelessly for nearly three years to be less self-centered. We do it without thinking. Our natural way is self-preservation, so it makes sense for the human being to be self-centered. You may care about a few others, but honestly, when it comes down to it, you're the same as everyone else.
Now, now, don't get so offended. Think about it. When's the last time you asked someone how their day went? Wait, think about it. Are you sure? Okay, now I want you to think to when you asked someone how their day went and wanted an answer besides "good" or "okay", followed by the obligatory "how was yours?" Yeah. That's what I thought. You, my dear reader, don't care. Okay, maybe one or two friends, maybe a significant other, children or parents. But really, honestly, I do it too. You aren't alone. It's normal.
My goal in this blog is to look out in to the world and find things that interest me. But not only me, but others, too. Because (as previously stated) I have worked hard to think of others before myself.
But, since it's my blog, maybe I should do an introduction post? Nah, I'll write a bio elsewhere...
So, this blog: pictures, articles, opinions, movies, games, stories, experiences, drama, writing, poems, and all sorts of randomness. Most won't be personal. Well, probably. I'll be sure to mark the personal ones, so you don't have to read them if you don't want to.
The deal is, though, that I don't want your wrath, alright? I'm going to give you my opinions. You're entitled to your own, as am I. Just remember: just because the opinion isn't yours doesn't mean it isn't right. You need to have a little bit of an open mind. Feel free to comment on anything I post, telling me how wrong I am, how terrible of a person I must be, whatever. Let me know what your opinions are. I love hearing about other people's opinions, and what you all think.
So, readers, what do you think? I want to be the variety show of blogs. Do you think I can do it?
Sarah, signing off. Don't forget to take it all with a Grain of Salt. :)
